General Information : The required period to achieve the Master's degree is four semesters. After completing and succeeding the compulsory courses, getting credits and presenting seminars, the candidates for the Master's degree can get at most two more half semesters to complete their thesis. The required period to achieve doctoral degree is eight semesters which can be decreased to six semesters at minimum. The thesis preparation period should not be less than three semesters. The candidates for Doctoral degree can get four more half semesters at most to complete their thesis.

The Master's degree or Doctoral Degree are awarded to students who have successfully completed all courses in the curriculum, prepared a thesis, and succeeded in thesis dissertation.
 
Qualification Awarded : After successful completion of the program, students will be awarded Master of Science degree in Aquaculture  
Level of Qualification : Second Cycle (Master?s Degree)/ Third Cycle (Doctorate Degree).This is a second cycle degree program in Aquaculture (120 ECTS).
 
Specific Admission Requirements : the studies in the Süleyman Demirel University according to the process established by the YÖK (Higher Education Council) regulations. The detail information about the application (once or sometimes twice a year) and access requirements are released before academic year starts on its web site (www.fenbilimleri.sdu.edu.tr). Students who have started studies in other universities within or outside of the country may apply for their recognition. The recognition record is unique for each student and therefore the procedure is carried out accordingly before the start of each academic year.

Under an established exchanges program or one approved by the University, exchange students from abroad may be accepted for studies on the courses taught in English. Or, if they are confident in Turkish, they may then enroll in any courses, running in Turkish, shown on the ?Course Structure? diagram. For example Erasmus students from abroad want to spend one term or two terms in a graduate program at Süleyman Demirel Universty should apply to International Relation Office.
 
Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning (formal, non-formal and informal) : Students who accepted via horizontal or vertical transition system an adaptation program is applied..

 
Qualification Requirements and Regulations : National qualifications frameworks may contain levels (or intermediate qualifications) within the three Bologna cycles (e.g. a short cycle within the first cycle). These levels allow institutions to structure a particular qualification and regulate progression through the qualification. Qualification Requirements and Regulations are enacted by YÖK (The Council Of Higher Education) in Turkey.  
Profile of The Programme : To train MSci students with the skills of producing new approaches/methods for a research subject or applying a known method to a new field, and/or developing the ability of performing independent scientific research in any field of Aquaculture  
Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples : Private sector (feed plants, seafood processing plants, aquaculture facilities) and public (state water works, agriculture ministry, the environment ministry and the academic staff at universities as employment opportunities) aquaculture as an engineer employment opportunities are found.  
Access to Further Studies : Upon a successful completion of the program, student may continue with PhD study in the same or similar scientific areas, which may accept students from Aquaculture Department.  
Aims Of Programme : The courses in this department are fish microbiology, live food production, fish pathology, fish endocrinology, pharmacological treatment in aquaculture, fish embriyology, crustacean and mollusc diseases, fish immunology, serelogical techniques in fish, diseases and diagnosis in aquarium fish, vaccination in fish culture, water quality in aquaculture, fish histopathology, fish histology, parasitic fish disease, trout culture, biotechnological methods in aquaculture, cage culture, freshwater crayfish culture, fish nutrition experiments, diseases of marine fish culture, salmon culture, carp culture, disease of freswater fish culture, treatment methods in fish disease, mullet culture, eel culture, shrimp culture, channel catfish culture, tilapia culture, fish physiology, vitamins in fish nutrition, minerals in fish nutrition and aquaculture transportation regulations.

Graduation Requirements : In order to gain the degree, a student is required to take minimum 120 ECTS credits lectures (from the graduate course program) and to complete the courses successfully. In addition, the student should carry out a research under the supervision of a lecturer. Having followed the submission of thesis, the student is required to have a verbal examination on his/her work

Program Learning Outcomes
1 Having necessary engineering capabilities in production process of natural environment (examination, observation, measurement, calculation, project, interpretation, solving problem, presentations, etc.)..
2 Having capability of access to information, communication, data collection, using computer for records, classifying, statistical analysis, graphing, charting and reporting
3 Taking responsibility in social and ethical rules for employer, company or special job and can use authority, communicating with media healty
4 Planing independent essay about breeding and disease in the light of relevant literature and making.
5 Planing independent project about breeding and disease in the light of relevant literature and making.
6 Able to review and understand the general and professional tests which is, published in any foreign language document and able to make assessments on these texts
7 Have scientific and original articles published in Turkish and foreign languages and national and international journal
8 Presenting and preparing notification in events for instance; national and international symposia, conferences, workshops etc.
9 Able to make applied in aquaculture farming methods, usage of these techniques consciously and necessary changes in methods
10 Knowing seed production of breeding of the fishery types, maintenance, nutrition, treatment and diagnostic methods and diagnostic methods, applying those in the field and develop new techniques
11 Working about quality and pollution in water resources, protection, control, and sustainable management
12 Using measurement instruments and technical devices used in the treatment of disease, fisheries research in the field, analysis, production, cultivation, processing
13 Planning to current events and knowing fisheries-related institutional organizations, the applicable legislation and the practical applications of this legislation
14 Able to make aquaculture facilities in the business management and organization, consulting, and executive director be able to make responsible
15 Having written and oral communication proficiency, can think interpreter, can analyze information and obtained results, can forward information, observations and thoughts to others, can produce solutions to problems.
