General Information : Master and Doctor programmes are given in Field crops department. There are 4 proffesor, 3 Assoc. Proffessor and 3 Assist. Proffesor in department. It were given plant breeding, cereals, industry plants, biotegnology and range pasture and forage crops lessons in field crops department.  
Qualification Awarded : Upon successful completion of the course and research program, graduates are awarded with Master of Science diploma.  
Level of Qualification : Second Cycle (Master?s Degree)/ Third Cycle (Doctorate Degree).Graduate students must complete 7 courses and earn at least 21 credits (120 ECTS), must present a student seminer and successfully complete a thesis research.
 
Specific Admission Requirements : Student must have a BS degree granted by a university that is accepted and accredited by Higher Education Council (YÖK). Admission requirements and procedures, and acceptance conditions are announced by the Graduate School from the following web site (http://fenbilimleri.sdu.edu.tr).

Student who started their graduate studies in Turkey or abroad could apply the program to continue their education at Suleyman Demirel University as long as they are enrolled in an equivalent degree program offered by the field crops department. Admissions of students are evaluated by the department before the beginning of semester.

Foreign exchange students could take courses offered by the graduate school. Language of instruction for those courses is English. If students do not posses adequate Turkish language skills, they could enroll a Turkish language course offered by the university. Exchange students must apply international relations office to study at Suleyman Demirel University. Detailed information about the application process could be obtained from the international relations office?s web site (http://disiliskiler.sdu.edu.tr).
 
Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning (formal, non-formal and informal) : Necessary information can be obtained from the Graduate School and its web site.  
Qualification Requirements and Regulations : National qualifications frameworks may contain levels (or intermediate qualifications) within the three Bologna cycles (e.g. a short cycle within the first cycle). These levels allow institutions to structure a particular qualification and regulate progression through the qualification. Qualification Requirements and Regulations are enacted by YÖK (The Council Of Higher Education) in Turkey.  
Profile of The Programme : Department aims to fulfill those requirements by training and graduating skilled students who could determine and describe problems, develop and improve new or existing methodologies and use conventional and modern approaches to solve those problems.  
Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples : Graduate students could find employment at private and public sector jobs.  
Access to Further Studies : After obtaining MS diploma, students could apply and continue their PhD studies within the programs of Agriculture Faculties or other programs within other faculties.  
Aims Of Programme : Objective of the department is to educate and train students in field crop sciences to meet demands and needs of public sector, industry, growers and consumers to breed new varieties, grow and produce agronomic crops and implement new procedures and techniques in field crops sciences.  
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading : Detailed information about examination rules, evaluation and grading of exams for each course could be found in course listings.  
Graduation Requirements : In order to successfully complete their degree program, students must take courses and complete them successfully and must earn 60 ECTS credits. Before or after completion of the course program, students start their research program under guidance of a faculty member. Every student must finish his/her research, must defend in front of thesis jury and must write and submit his/her thesis to the graduate school.

Program Learning Outcomes
In addition to skills and knowledge gained during undergraduate education, students will develop abilities to broaden, reach, absorb and interpret scientific knowledge, conduct and design scientific research and analyze results.
To have necessary skills to manage research independently from the beginning, interpret results, solve the problems and implement and communicate results both written and orally.
To have ability to solve problems that could arise during work and research activities and to take responsibility and find new ways to solve such problems
To have necessary skills to use computers and programs related to his field of study and to have knowledge and skills to use other information technologies/products
To be aware of local and national agriculture problems and to involve committees and shape necessary policies
To gather, interpret, communicate information related to his field of study during his career and uphold scientific and moral values and be able to teach, observe and control those values and act when breaches occur
To have necessary skills to use his knowledge and training in a multidisciplinary work environment and to be able prepare, submit and conduct original research and to be able to present results
To be able to reach knowledge and learn systematically and to be able evaluate new and complex thoughts critically and to have skills and information to make necessary deductions
To have necessary knowledge and skills to expand scientific knowledge through original thought, methodology and research and apply new methods to his field study and to be able to publish results in national and international refereed journals
To be able to communicate gained knowledge during his career with his research partners and scientific audience and with the public and to have native and foerign language skills to collaborate national and international partners
