General Information : Suleyman Demirel University, Faculty of Technology published in the Official Gazette No. 27405 dated 13.11.2009 by the decision of the Council of Ministers has been established. 2010-2011 Faculty of Education at the University of Technology in Manufacturing Engineering undergraduate program was opened. The students were registered to first semester courses from 2010-2011 The program teaches the language of instruction is Turkish and application oriented. In addition, 5 or 6 semester will be over a period of workplace training. The program can find detailed information about the menus.  
Qualification Awarded : Manufacturing Engineer  
Level of Qualification : First Cycle (Bachelor?s Degree).The undergraduate program in manufacturing engineering is a first-cycle degree program in engineering with a total ECTS credit of 240. Upon successful completion of the program requirements, a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering will be granted.  
Specific Admission Requirements : Students who have started studies in other universities within or outside the country may apply for their recognition. The recognition record is unique for each student and therefore the procedure is carried out accordingly before the start of each academic year. Under an established exchange program or one approved by the University, exchange students from abroad who are confident in Turkish may be accepted for studies.  
Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning (formal, non-formal and informal) : The rules and regulations for recognition of formal prior learning are well defined. Transfer can be made among the institutions of which equivalency is recognized by the Higher Education Council. Also successful vocational school graduates to continue their education to obtain Bachelor?s degrees if they are successful in the selection and the placement examination (DGS, i.e. vertical transfer examination) are admitted. The courses to be taken by these students are determined by the relevant department, on the basis of courses they have completed in the programs from which they have graduated. Recognition of prior non-formal and in-formal learning is at the beginning stage in Turkish Higher Education Institutions. The Suleyman Demirel University and hence the Manufacturing Engineering Department is not an exception to this. However, exams of exemption are organised at the start of each year at the University for the courses of English Language and Computer Skills. The students who have completed the proficiencies for these courses on his/her own or through other means, and believe that they have achieved the learning outcomes specified are given the right to take the exemption exam. The students who achieve a passing grade from these exams are held exempt from the related course in the curriculum.  
Qualification Requirements and Regulations : National qualifications frameworks may contain levels (or intermediate qualifications) within the three Bologna cycles (e.g. a short cycle within the first cycle). These levels allow institutions to structure a particular qualification and regulate progression through the qualification. Qualification Requirements and Regulations are enacted by YÖK (The Council Of Higher Education) in Turkey.  
Profile of The Programme : The objectives of the department are to offer high quality undergraduate education in manufacturing engineering combined with excellent research opportunities, and to teach the skills and knowledge necessary for design, manufacturing, human resource management, and life-long learning with ethical and professional integrity in a national and global context.  
Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples : The graduates of the Bachelor's programme in the Manufacturing Engineering Department have opportunities of employment in a variety of state and private funded companies. The main state companies where they can work are mechanical and related engineering departments of academic instutions as academic staff, and governmental bodies and enterprises as engineer. Chemical Engineers holding Bachelor's Degree play a key role in industries. Manufacturing Process Industries such as agricultural, petroleum, paint, plastics, polymers, pharmaceutical, pulp and paper, detergent and cosmetics, cement, ceramics, artificial fibres, primary metals, glass, textiles, food and drink, environment, biotechnology and microelectronics are the employment areas of today?s Chemical Engineers. All these depend on chemical engineers to tailor manufacturing technology to the requirements of their products and to integrate product design with process design. Manufacturing Engineers can work in quality and process control, manufacturing, safety, research, product design and development, technical assistance, and marketing and sales, as technical or managerial personnel.  
Access to Further Studies : Upon successful completion of the programme, the student may continue at a master's degree in the same or similar field in science and engineering which may accept students from Manufacturing Engineering.  
Aims Of Programme : The primary aim of the Department of Manufacturing Engineering is to train students in the field of manufacturing engineering, providing them with the capability of pinpointing and analysing engineering problems, creating new ideas and solutions with effective communication.

Graduation Requirements : In order to gain the degree, the student is required to have a minimum of 240 ECTS credits from the lectures of the undergraduate course programme and successfully completed them.

2 The ability to understand and comment on the impact of manufacturing engineering solutions in a national and global context
3 The ability to identify, formulate, and solve manufacturing engineering problems
4 The knowledge of contemporary issues in manufacturing engineering
5 The ability to use the techniques, skills and modern engineering tools such as computer programs, necessary for engineering design and analysis and modern information systems
6 The ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data and use modern tools and equipment
7 The ability to select, develop and/or design a system, component, or process to meet desired performance, manufacturing capabilities and economic requirements
8 The ability to function on and/or develop leadership in multi-disciplinary teams.
9 Recognition of the need for life-long learning and and its implementation
10 The ability for effective written and oral communication in Turkish and English
11 Understanding of professional and ethical responsibility
